Support Wairarapa artists, contribute to local initiatives and get a really cool T-shirt at the same time !
Sam's T-shirt design captures the 'Tuna' or native Longfin Eel of NZ. This rare species used to thrive in Wairarapa waterways but is being pushed out by over-fishing and loss of habitat.
The phrase To Tatou Awa or 'Our River' is all about local people stepping up and taking responsibility for the health and future of our rivers, particularly the Ruamahanga the lifeblood of the Wairarapa valley.
TAKE ACTION NOW to support the preservation of our precious waterways by:
- buying these T's and by spreading the word about the plight of our rivers and the creatures within them, like the amazing Longfin Tuna/Eel for example.
- visiting the Wairarapa Moana (Lake Wairarapa) exhibition currently on at Aratoi Museum of Art and History in Masterton
- Taking a walk at your local river and taking out at least 3 pieces of rubbish!
